CODESYS software

The XSOFT-CODESYS development tool is a professional engineering software platform for programming Eaton’s XV... and XC... controller series. Its convenient engineering functions, based on the international standard IEC 61131-3, simplify development work and offer sophisticated features that deliver practical benefits. Project configuration using wizards, IEC 61131-3 editors (FBD, LD, ST, SFC), and a mature, well-established library concept improves usability and facilitates reuse.

Integrated configuration editors

The XC controller’s local I/O level can be easily configured using XSOFT-CODESYS and flexibly expanded with XN300 I/O devices. Integrated CANopen and EtherCAT configurators allow quick and intuitive connection of XN300 or third-party devices to the desired fieldbus. XSOFT-CODESYS also supports configuration for Modbus TCP/RTU and Ethernet/IP.

Flexible visualization options

XSOFT-CODESYS enables on-site project visualization through an HTML web panel or a GALILEO-programmed XV HMI. The XControl controllers and XV HMI/PLC support web visualization via a built-in web server. Additionally, HTML5-based visualization is supported on mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.

Comprehensive application libraries

To facilitate controller programming with XSOFT-CODESYS, Eaton provides ready-made libraries for various applications, helping to save time during project planning. These include toolboxes for control engineering and motion control, as well as communication libraries for FTP server/client, UDP, and TCP/IP.

HTML-based content easily visualized

Among other things, the software XSOFT-CODESYS offers a wide range of language options as well as the possibility to create several PLC programs in one project. It also comes with the option to create flexible visualization applications. In addition, web pages are generated using HTML5, while customer-specific applications can be created by means of a plug-in programming tool.
